Bolingbrook Man Pointed Gun At Victim During Argument: Police

Police said they responded to a home on Sioux Drive at 5:47 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man with a gun.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A Bolingbrook man has been charged with aggravated assault after pointing a handgun at a woman during a "domestic dispute," Bolingbrook Police said in a news release.

Jay Mercer, 33, was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated unlawful use of weapon and unlawful use of weapon in connected to the incident.

Police said they responded to a home on Sioux Drive at 5:47 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man with a gun. Initial reports said a man was having an argument with a woman outside the front of a residence and the man was in possession of a handgun, according to police.

Police secured the scene, detained one man and recovered multiple firearms, according to a release. There were no reported injuries.

Mercer was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
