Bolingbrook Plans 10th Annual Juneteenth Celebration

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Bolingbrook will hold its 10th annual Juneteenth celebration on June 15, offering live music, line dancing, kids activities and more.

Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, and is now a federal holiday in the United States.

Bolingbrook's event will be held from noon to 9 p.m. on June 15, at 375 W. Briarcliff Road. The Juneteenth celebration will feature live entertainment, food, refreshments and family-friendly activities.

"Juneteenth is a time to honor our ancestors, celebrate the achievements of Black Americans, and enjoy a day filled with community, unity, and pride," the Village said on its Facebook page.
