Boys Soccer: Bolingbrook Dominates in Raider Shootout Opener

The Bolingbrook High School boys soccer team defeated Solorio Academy 5-1 Tuesday in the opening round of the Raider Shootout.

For the second game in a row, the  boys soccer team has flexed its offensive muscle en route to a convincing win. 

Last week, the Raiders cruised to victory . On Tuesday, Bolingbrook got another trifecta—this time from sophomore forward Hugo Lopez.

Lopez's three goals helped spur Bolingbrook to a 5-1 victory over Solorio Academy in the opening round of the Raider Shootout at BHS.

Bolingbrook (4-1) scored three goals in the first half—one from Cruz, Lopez and senior forward Priest Bonsu—while blanking Solorio.

Lopez's first goal came with 16 minutes, 56 seconds left to play in the first half and came on a rocket deep in the left corner that found the far post.

Lopez scored his first second half goal off a nifty through ball from Cruz to give the Raiders the 4-0 lead. Just a few minutes later, Lopez scored again off a free kick from senior defenseman Edwin Gonzalez.

Senior goalkeeper Fransisco Luna stopped the one and only shot he saw in the first half before being pulled for senior Luis Rivera, who stopped two shots and let in one goal late in the game.
