Construction to Begin on Weber Road Bridge This Week
Weber Road will be reduced to one-lane traffic each way for several months during the project.
Construction on the Weber Road bridge that crosses over the DuPage River is set to begin this week and village officials are warning drivers of delays.
Crews will work on the bridge, located about a half of a mile north of the Weber and Boughton Road intersection, a half at a time. That means Weber Road will be reduced to one-lane traffic each way for several months.
According to a village release, state inspections in 2009 revealed the deck beams on the bridge needed to be replaced.

The project will cost $672,903 and the village is receiving a grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation Bridge Repair Program that will pay for 80 percent of the project.
Later this month, the Illinois Department of Transportation is expected to bid out the Boughton Road construction project contracts, which will .

Director of Public Works Mike Drey said both of the projects should be completed by the end of the year.
