Crews to Begin Paving Library Parking Lot
More than 100 extra spaces will be available for patrons beginning Sept. 2, officials say.

Perhaps the biggest detraction from Bolingbrook's is the severe lack of parking spaces. If you've dropped by the new during the last few months, you know what we're talking about.
Library officials hope those days will be over starting next month, when 150 additional parking spaces will become available for library patrons.
Construction crews will begin paving the new parking lot—the site of the old Fountaindale Public Library—and the lot should be ready for parking by Sept. 2, said Graham Harwood, a representative with Owners Services Group.

Harwood called Friday a "big day," adding that another 50 spaces would be available after phase four—the final phase of the library construction project—is complete.
Peggy Danhoff, president of the library's board of trustees, said she hopes the additional parking will add to the number of people who visit the library.

Harwood said crews have been focusing on making the new parking lot available as soon as possible throughout the month.
The library currently has a total of 76 parking spaces available to library visitors.
The canopy that will extend from the main entrance out into the parking lot will not be ready, Harwood said, therefore patrons must still use the alternate entrance.
The canopy should be ready by Sept. 12, at which point the main entrance will be complete, Harwood added.
Construction crews began demolishing the old library on March 31, just a few weeks after the .
The $43 million library was funded by bonds issued after voters passed a community referendum in February 2008. Roughly $5 million of the total amount of the referendum went to the Romeoville Public Library.
Crews broke ground on the new library in August 2009.
