Deluca Signs Letter to Play for South Suburban College

Softball player Ashley Deluca is the latest Bolingbrook High School student-athlete to commit to play in the collegiate ranks.

Bolingbrook High School senior Ashley Deluca signed a letter of intent to play softball next year for South Suburban College.

Deluca, the daughter of Tony and Debbie Garcia, has played on the BHS varsity team since her sophomore year.

“She’s a real hitter. She has a good eye and good power,” said BHS varsity softball coach Jean Ryan-Moak.

Also in attendance with school officials during the signing was Travel Coach Al Hahne of Deluca's Lisle Slammers 18u-A team.

Deluca has been the team's starting catcher and will finish her career playing for them this coming summer, ending with the ASA Class A Nationals.

She looks forward to continuing her catching career for SSC next season.

Deluca's will major in radiation therapy and nuclear medicine. She made her decision last year after watching her grandmother lose her year-long battle with a rare cancer.
