A customer appreciation day will be held at the , located at 100 N. Bolingbrook Dr.

The event will include 50 cent ice cream cones, a Grimace appearance between noon and 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., free value meals for every 20th drive-thru customer, a raffle for a free birthday party for eight children in the lobby.

An activity book and a box of crayons will be given for the first 200 happy meals purchased during the day.

Donate to "Give a Little, Feed a Lot" food drive. Make a monetary or food donation at any Jewel-Osco now through Oct. 1 and all contributions will go to the Greater Chicago Food Depository and other area food banks and food pantries. 

September is "Hunger Action Month." The grocer's 2010 food drive raised more than $2 million in donations.

The , partnered with the Naperville Astronomical Association will, host a stargazing event at the library on Friday beginning at 8:30 p.m.

Attendees, who must be ages 10 and up, will learn about astronomy, view the moon, colorful double and multiple stars, smoky nebulas and Saturn.
