2. Local Business Offers Free Blood Pressure Screening

Nephrology Associates is offering a free community blood pressure screening for the general public at its Bolingbrook location at 329 Remington Blvd Ste 105 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The screening is designed to get people to know their blood pressure reading and learn about the link between blood pressure and chronic kidney disease.

Also available will be educational material to reduce your risk as well as literature, giveaways, and coupons from our sponsors including , , , and .

3.  Will County Emergency Management Agency to Purchase Command Vehicle

The Will County Board approved the purchase at its Aug. 18 meeting. The $725,000 vehilce will be funded by a Federal Emergency Management Agency grant by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The custom-built mobile unit will be used by Will County and local emergency commanders at the scene of major emergencies, disaster sites and major public events.

The Will County Emergency Telephone System will buy equopment for the unit to allow it to serve as an emergency back-up dispatch center, in the event of an outage affecting any of the county's 911 centers.

The unit should be delivered by March 2012.
