Will County Land Use Director Curt Paddock is one of seven county leaders from across the country appointed to the National Association of Counties’ Green Government Initiative Advisory Board.
The Green Government Initiative Advisory Board is made up of 24 county representatives and 18 corporate sponsors whose charge is to spearhead development of a national program to help counties “go green.” Paddock will serve a three-year term. His appointment began Aug. 1.

The Bolingbrook Soccer Club U-17 girls travel soccer team won 1-0 over the Chicago Fire Juniors North in the championship game Aug. 21.

Destiny Vasquez scored the team's only goal on a deflection off the goalkeeper in the first half and both of goalkeepers Karissa Jones and Hailee Tyner made a couple of key saves to secure the victory.

3. Farmers Market is Today!
Looking for a great family-friendly event that will be sure to be fun for all? Try Thursday night schedule, which includes its weekly and .
The farmers market starts at 4 p.m. and is held in the parking lot outside the storefront.
The FREE Main Street Summer Concert Series will begin at 7 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m. The Promenade will have some chairs for attendees, however, recommends that guests bring their own lawn chairs and blankets for guaranteed seating.
Tonight's band is SODA, which plays 1960s-era music through today's hits.
Tonight's concert is the last in The Promenade's free Thursday night concert series.

Support Will County Take Back the Night by attending a fundraiser on Friday at Chicago Street Bar & Grill from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Tickets are $25 at the door and include appetizers, draft beer, and soft drinks. We’ll be hosting a bean bag tournament and selling 50/50 raffle tickets.
Take Back the Night is an annual rally that brings survivors, supporters, activists and community leaders together in a call for the end of violence against women.
The funds raised will support the costs associated with holding the Take Back the Night rally. After the expenses for the rally are paid, additional proceeds will benefit agencies that provide services to Will County women and children.
