1. Peterson Trial to Begin in the Next Few Months?

fifth bid to get the Drew Peterson out of the Will County jail fell on deaf ears at the Illinois Supreme Court on Monday.

Peterson has been locked since May 2009 on charges he murdered his third wife, Kathleen Savio, and has been in legal limbo since prosecutors appealed a ruling on hearsay evidence the day before his trial was to start in July 2010.

Peterson is being held on a $20 million bond. His attorneys contend he should be free while waiting on a prosecution appeal.

But according to a report, the ruling left Peterson’s attorneys “hopeful” the high court will not hear the appeal from prosecutors, which could clear the way for Peterson to stand trial in the next few months.

“We’re obviously disappointed that Mr. Peterson won’t be released but we’re also hopeful that this is an indication that the Supreme Court is not going to hear the state’s appeal,” defense attorney Joel Brodsky told the paper.

5. Library to Teach Caregivers with 'Seven Mistakes Most Caregivers Make' Program

From the website:

The Seven Mistakes seminar is an approximately 45 minute presentation which begins by showing the family member responsible for the well being of their loved one that they are not alone. Government and national association statistics are provided to let them know that many others (almost one in three U.S. households) are going through the same difficulties as they are.

The seven things most of us don’t do are presented and explained and why they are so important to the caregiver. Suggestions to many pressing questions are offered and show how education is the key to improving the lives of both the care giver and the care receiver, and assure the caregiver that they are already doingthe best they can.
