It's National Dog Day! Send Us Photos of You and Your Pooch

We love dogs. You love dogs. We love pictures of you posing with your dog(s)!

That's why today, in honor of National Dog Day, Bolingbrook Patch is soliciting photos of its readers and their furry friends! Send us pictures of you and your pooch—or in some cases, pooches—and we'll post them for all to see!

The catch? Glad you asked!

When uploading your photo, be sure to send us your name and the name of your dogs. And on Saturday, we'll hold a vote for the best dog/owner combo. The winner will get a $25 gift certificate to a pet store of their choice.

To upload a photo of you and your pup, just click on the "Add your own photos and videos" link underneath the photo in the rop right of this article. It's as easy as that!

In the meantime, here are some activities to enjoy with your dog today in Bolingbrook: 

• Give your dog some fun exercise by taking him or her to one of the many beautiful parks of the Bolingbrook Park District. For a complete list of parks, click HERE.
• Help your dog meet some friends by taking him or her to Whalon Lake Dog Park on the border of Bolingbrook and Naperville. 
• Buy your dog a fun new dog toy at one of Bolingbrook's many pet stores (, ,  or )
• Head on over to the and look into adopting a dog. Or contact someone at the Humane Haven Animal Shelter or Aloha Rescues to inquire about their rescued pups.
• Pamper your dog by taking him or her to local groomer,  or —two local groomers.
