Man Faces Gun, Drug Charges After Bolingbrook Traffic Stop: Police

Police arrested Darryl Coachman of Chicago after they said they pulled him over and found a loaded handgun, cocaine, and pot in the car.

BOLINGBROOK, IL ­­— A 27-year-old Chicago man faces weapons and drug charges after a traffic stop on Wednesday led to Bolingbrook Police discovering a loaded handgun and cocaine and marijuana inside the driver’s vehicle, police said on Thursday.

Darryl J. Coachman was taken to the Will County Jail after he was arrested in connection with several charges after the traffic stop, which took place at 12:51 p.m. Wednesday. After police stopped the vehicle, they found 124.5 grams of cocaine and 6 ½ grams of marijuana inside the vehicle along with a loaded handgun with a 30-round magazine, police said.

Coachman was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, illegal possession of ammunition, manufacturing of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, driving while his license was suspended, and failure to signal.
