National Prescription Drug Take Back Day In Bolingbrook Saturday

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, BPD officers will be stationed in the police department lobby to receive residents' unneeded medication.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bolingbrook Police Department will be an official drop-off site for the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., BPD officers will be stationed in the police department lobby to receive residents’ unneeded medications, according to the department.

Items accepted include: expired prescriptions, unwanted/unused prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, syrups, ointments, creams, patches and vitamins.

Items NOT accepted include syringes, sharps, injectable drugs, intravenous solutions, illicit drugs, oxygen containers, pressurized canisters and medical equipment.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day encourages the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting, according to a news release.
