Police Blotter: Attempted Murder, Purse Snatched From Woman and Battery

Tuesday, Dec. 27

1. Warrant

Cervando Cerda, 22, of the 700 block of Yates Avenue in Romeoville, was charged with an in-state warrant following a traffic stop on the 400 block of North Bolingbrook Drive at 3:05 a.m.

2. Resisting a peace officer

Terrell Fanniel, 50, of the 800 block of Rebecca Lane, was charged with resisting a peace officer; Trevaugh Robertson, 19, of the 900 block of South Lorraine Road in Wheaton, was charged with resisting a peace officer and driving on a suspended license; and Kevin Simmons, 18, of the 1200 block of West Roosevelt Road in Wheaton, was charged with resisting a peace officer following a traffic stop on the 800 block of Rebecca Lane at 7:40 p.m.

3. Attempted murder

Police were called to Lot P of Fernwood Drive for the report of a domestic disturbance. Mar Larry, 28, of Fernwood Drive, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery after stabbing his brother several times with a knife at 8:41 a.m.

4. Copper piping removed

Copper piping was removed from a home on the 900 block of Pennwood Lane between Dec. 7 and Dec. 27. Loss valued at $600.

5. Robbery

Police responded to the 600 block of East Boughton Road for the report of a robbery that just occurred at 5:45 p.m. As the victim was leaving work and walking to their car, an unknown subject ran up, grabbed the victim’s purse and ran off.

Monday, Dec. 26

6. Warrant

Andrew Papastefan, 20, of the 600 block of Hillcrest Road, was charged with an in-state warrant on the 300 block of South Bolingbrook Drive following a call to the area for suspicious activity at 8:54 p.m.

7. Broken flood light

A flood light and a second floor window was broken to a home on the 500 block of Warbler Drive at 5:45 p.m.

8. Battery

Maurice Isom, 18, of the 1800 block of Somerset Drive, was charged with battery on the 100 block of North Bolingbrook Drive at 5:35 p.m.
