Police Blotter: Chicago Man Charged with Resisting a Peace Officer, Aggravated Battery

Friday, Nov. 25

1. Battery

Police were called to the 100 block of Beaconridge Drive for the report of a battery. The victim told police they were hit from behind as they entered the home. A screen door and window were also broken at 1:10 a.m.

2. iPod stolen

An Apple iPod and gift card were taken from a home on the 600 block of Hughes Place between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. Loss valued at $250.

3. Aggravated assault

Bryan Yancy, 44, of the 7700 block of South Throop Avenue in Chicago, was charged with theft of motor vehicle parts, aggravated assault, possession of burglary tools and two counts of resisting a peace officer after a call to the area for a suspicious person at 9:39 p.m.

4. Stolen cell phone

A cell phone was taken from a desk on the 200 block of Remington Boulevard between 9 a.m. and 9:05 a.m. Loss valued at $216.

Thursday, Nov. 24

5. DUI

Randy Machinikowski 41, of the 1500 block of De Paul Avenue in Naperville, was charged with DUI following a traffic stop at the intersection of Weber Road and Royce Road at 225 a.m.

6. Stolen laptop

A rear window was broken and a laptop was stolen from a car parked on the 200 block of Walker Drive between Nov. 24 and Nov. 25. Loss valued at $700.

7. Home window broken

A home window was broken at 12:45 a.m. on the 300 block of Fieldstone Drive.
