Police Blotter: DUI, Retail Theft and Possession of Drugs

Bolingbrook police reports, Nov. 5-6.

Sunday, Nov. 6

1. Robbery

Police were called to the 200 block of West Briarcliff Road for the report of a robbery. A victim said they were walking near the park when unknown subjects took the victim’s backpack, laptop, coat and cell phone at 5:12 p.m.

2. DUI

Steve Kwarten, 58, of the 200 block of Green Mountain Drive, was charged with two counts of DUI, speeding and improper lane usage following a traffic stop at the intersection of Bedford Drive and Rockhurst Road at 3:07 a.m.

3. Possession of a controlled substance

Adam Bochman, 37, of the 300 block of Meadow Green Drive in Naperville, was charged with driving without lights, driving on a suspended license and possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop on the 200 block of North Weber Road at 2:15 a.m.

4. Battery

Justin Stanger, 28, of the 200 block of Seabury Road, was charged with battery following a call to the residence for a domestic dispute at 8:13 p.m.

5. Possession of drug equipment

Lucas Garbis, 30, of the 1200 block of Piccadilly Circle in Naperville, was charged with a traffic sign violation and possession of drug equipment following a traffic stop on the 900 block of West Briarcliff Road at 8:56 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 5

6. Warrant

Desera Hickey, 30, of the 100 block of Larchmont Avenue, was charged with an in-state warrant on the 200 block of North Weber Road at 12:33 p.m.

7. Residential burglary

Police were called to the 300 building on Woodcreek Drive for the report of a residential burglary. Unknown offenders remove the peep hole and attempted to pry open the front door.

8. Cars rummaged through

Two cars parked on the 100 block of South Palmer Drive between 12:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. were rummaged through.

9. Retail theft

A 15-year-old was charged with retail theft at Target, located at 1188 W. Boughton Rd., at 3:30 p.m. The teen allegedly placed $357 worth of items in a shopping cart and then bagged the items before leaving without paying.

10. DUI

Nicole Edwards-Powell, 29, of the 200 block of Chippewa Court, was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and no insurance following a traffic stop at the intersection of Boughton Road and Pinecrest Road at 2:07 a.m.
