Police Blotter: Home Burglars Take Time to Eat Pizza

Bolingbrook police reports, Aug. 13-14.

Sunday, Aug. 14

1. Battery

Police responded to the 100 block of Falconridge Way for the repot of a battery. A victim told police they were punched in the face several times following a verbal argument. The victim was transported to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital for their injuries at 3:21 p.m.

2. Box cut from cell tower

A copper box valued at $800 was cut from a cell tower on the 900 block of Veterans Parkway at 8:50 a.m.

3. Home burglars eat pizza

Police responded to the 200 block of Harwood Drive for the report of a residential burglary. The homeowners told police they discovered a rear window open, rooms rummaged through, pizza was eaten and numerous DVDs were taken between Aug. 13 and Aug. 14.

4. Stolen trailers

Two 1994 white Wabash trailers were taken from the parking lot on the 500 block of Territorial Drive between Aug. 13 and Aug. 14.

5. Stolen purse

A purse was taken from a car while the victim was loading laundry on the 200 block of South Bolingbrook Drive at 9:30 p.m.

6. Resisting a peace officer

Josue Zavala, 19, of the 400 block of Salem Square and two 16-year-old juveniles were all charged with resisting a peace officer and littering at the intersection of South Bolingbrook Drive and Rocklyn Court at 12:04 a.m. following a call to the area for suspicious persons.

7. Warrant

Karla Ortega, 19, of the 100 block of Delmar Drive, was charged with an in-state warrant following a traffic stop on the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive at 3:30 a.m.

8. Aggravated battery

Police were called to the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive for the report of an aggravated battery. A victim told police they were hit numerous times in the face and body by a group of unknown subjects. The victim was transported to the hospital for injuries.

9. Aggravated battery

A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested and charged with aggravated battery and resisting a peace officer on the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive.

Saturday, Aug. 13

DUI

Steven Scanlon, 30, of the 6000 block of Red Bud Lane in Woodridge, was charged with DUI following a traffic stop at the intersection of Boughton Road and I-355 at 2:40 a.m.

10. DUI

Adrian Vera, 22, of the 100 block of South Schmidt Road, was charged with DUI, no insurance and driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop at the intersection of Briarcliff Road and Oakwood Lane.
