Police Blotter: Purse Snatched, Macy's Robbed and Cell Phone Stolen

1. Warrant

Dontae Edwards, 20, of the 2000 block of Faringdon Road in Springfield, was charged with an in-state warrant following a traffic stop at the intersection Bolingbrook Drive and Greentree Drive.

2. Retail theft

Jermaine Kimbrough and Kenyetta Washington, both 17, were charged with retail theft and burglary at Macy’s, located at 645 E. Boughton Rd., at 6:40 p.m.

3. Theft

Police were called to the 600 block of West Boughton Road for the report of a theft. A victim said they were selling a Samsung cell phone and met the intended buyer at a public location. When the subjects arrived, they took the phone and ran at 7:16 p.m. Loss valued at $220.

4. Robbery

Police were called to the parking lot on the 600 block of Preston Drive for the report of a robbery. A victim said they exited their car when unknown subjects approached and asked if the victim had a key to enter the main door of the building. Then, the subjects grabbed the victims purse and ran off at 10:22 p.m. Loss valued at $100.
