Police Blotter: Thief Sleeps Easy After Stealing $4k in Bedding

1. Chicago women arrested for retail theft
Tia Steward, 27, of the 3000 block of West Jackson Boulevard in Chicago, was charged with retail theft on the 200 block of North Weber Road.

2. Nearly $4,000 in bedding stolen from Kohl’s
Police were called to the Kohl’s at 1188 W. Boughton Rd., for the report of a retail theft. A witness told police that they saw an unknown subject place several bedding items in a shopping cart and attempt to leave the store without paying. Loss valued at $3,7000.

3. Stolen car stereo
A car stereo was taken from a locked car parked on the 500 block of Preston Drive sometime overnight. Loss valued at $300.
4. Criminal damage to a vehicle
Police were called to the 600 block of West Briarcliff Road for the report of criminal damage to a vehicle after a break line was found to have been cut and fluid was leaking.
5. Residential burglary
Police were called to the 500 block of Castle Court for the report of a residential burglary. A homeowner told police that they noticed a rear window open and a rear door ajar. A Wii game system and PS3 were taken between Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. Loss valued at $600.
6. Resisting a peace officer
Krystale Montique, 24, of the 600 block of Graystone Lane, was charged with resisting a peace officer after a call to the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive for the report of a fight with weapons.

7. DUI
Arturo Pantoja, 30, of the 100 block of Creekside Drive, was charged with DUI and a traffic sign violation following a traffic stop on the 100 block of North Schmidt Road at 8:26 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 30
8. Warrant
Chad Conley, 27, of the 200 block of Falconridge Way, was charged with an in-state warrant on the 500 block of Remington Boulevard at 6:31 p.m.
