Police Blotter: Victim Cracked Over the Head with a Bat, Car Suffers Same Fate

The following incidents were taken from police reports.
Monday, Aug. 15
1. Juvenile sells tobacco to youngster

A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with battery and sale of tobacco products to a minor after a call to the 200 block of North Weber Road at 11:53 p.m.
2. Residential burglary

Police were called to the 505 building on Preston Drive for the report of a residential burglary. The front door was left unlocked and an unknown subject entered the home and took several pieces of jewelry and money between 9:15 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 16
3. Graffiti
Graffiti was spray painted on a home on the 200 block of Apache court between Aug. 15 and Aug. 16.
4. Briefcase stolen from car
A briefcase, sunglasses and a GPS unit were taken from a car parked on the 1000 block of Crestwood Lane at 11:50 a.m.
5. Resisting a peace officer
Alfredo Najera, 18, of the 100 block of North Lancaster Drive, was charged with resisting a peace officer following a traffic stop on the 600 block of Olive Place at 11:24 p.m.
6. Battery
Police were called to the 600 block of Preston Drive for the report of a battery. Victims told police they were pushed and punched in the face after a verbal argument.
7. Victim hit with bat in back of the head
Police responded to the 500 block of Cottonwood Circle for the repot of battery and criminal damage to a motor vehicle. The victim told police they were hit in the back of the neck with a b at and then the offenders broke the victim’s car window before fleeing the area at 3:10 p.m.
