Police: Brothers Arrested in Connection to February Armed Robbery

Kushan and Keval Mehta, both of Bolingbrook, were arrested on Will County warrants for armed robbery Tuesday and charged with the February hold up.

A pair of Bolingbrook brothers were arrested Tuesday for their alleged connection to a February armed robbery at a local gas station.  A third offender remains on the loose, police said.

Kushan and Keval Mehta, who both live in separate residences on the 400 block of Yorkshire Square, were arrested on Will County warrants for armed robbery Tuesday and charged with the February hold up.

According to police, the brothers held up a local man at the gas station at 352 S. Bolingbrook Dr. on Feb. 18. The victim of the crime alleged he was walking home with his loaded black .40 caliber S&W in a book bag—the man said he was coming home from the firing range.

As he was walking northbound between Speedway and the fence line to the Beaconridge subdivision, he was approached by three subjects, two of which were the Mehta brothers and a third man described as a dark-skinned Hispanic.

The male Hispanice, according to police, pointed a black handgun at the victim and told him to drop his bag. The three offenders opened the bag and took the gun before running off.

Bolingbrook Lieutenant Mike Rompa said the victim chased after the men only to stop after he realized that if he caught up to them, he could be shot.

Rompa said police continue to investigate the incident and search for the third offender.

The Mehta brothers remain in the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
