Police: Mostly Quiet and Peaceful on Black Friday

No incidents of any significance reported on Black Friday.

Bolinbrook shoppers packed area stores in droves this Black Friday but were calm, cool and collected, according to .

Bolingbrook Lieutenant Mike Rompa said no injuries or incidents of any significance were reported in relation to Black Friday shopping.

"The consensus was the stores and (Promenade) mall was packed, but shoppers were all very cordial," Rompa said.

In years past, the police department has gotten calls regarding feisty shoppers or retail theft. This year, however, Rompa said things were all quiet. He even credited the with keeping the streets safe.

"I think Raider Nation overwhelmed allof us with the anticipation of the 8A High School State Football Championship, which was brought home Saturday," he said. "Perhaps being the best in the state this year started everyone's holiday in the right fashion?"

Rompa said the police department put an extra detail on , but no incidents were reported.
