Possible Cold Exposure Death Reported In Bolingbrook: Coroner

The coroner's office said a 59-year-old Bolingbrook man was found dead outside his home on Tuesday.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Will County Coroner's Office has reported two possible cold exposure deaths, including one in Bolingbrook, during the recent dangerously cold wind chills in the last few days.

The coroner's office said a 59-year-old Bolingbrook man was found dead outside in the 200 block of Coral Court on Tuesday, and a 44-year-old Park Forest man was found dead outside after shoveling snow on Friday.

Both cases are pending autopsy, police and toxicological reports, the coroner's office said.

The coroner's office is urging residents to use caution while shoveling snow and to limit their exposure to the cold weather. Wind chill values of 35 below zero were reported the past few days, and a wind chill advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Cold wind chills at these temperatures could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes, according to the weather service.
