Suspects Rob Gas Station At Gunpoint, Take Cash, Cigarettes: Police

Bolingbrook police said two men robbed the local Speedway station and forced the clerk inside before one suspect pulled out a handgun.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Two people walked up to a gas station clerk, forced her inside and then robbed the station at gunpoint early Friday morning, Bolingbrook police said.

The two robbers approached the clerk at 4:13 a.m. at the Speedway station at 447 N. Bolingbrook Drive, police said. The clerk was standing outside the station when the two people approached and pushed her inside.

One of the robbers stayed at the door while the other took out a gun and stole a small amount of cash and several cartons of Newport cigarettes, police said. The robbers then left on foot, police said.

The offenders were described as two men dressed in black with black neck gaiters and sunglasses, police said.
