Valley View Now on Facebook
District to provide virtually real-time information on any emergency situations, should they occur, plus photos, audio clips and video clips via Facebook.

is broadening its communications methods to include Facebook, officials announced Wednesday.
Effective immediately, anyone with a Facebook account will be able to “subscribe” to Valley View's news feed.
“Our Facebook postings won’t be as frequent or detailed as our district website postings but they will include information on significant school and district-wide activities on a regular basis,” said Larry Randa, VVSD’s Director of Community Relations.

Postings will include virtually real-time information on any emergency situations, should they occur, plus photos, audio clips and video clips. In addition, links will be posted to pertinent news stories that appear in local newspapers and on local news websites such as Bolingbrook Patch and TribLocal.com.
Because the VVSD Facebook pages are “subscribe only,” users will not be able to comment on a posting nor will they be able to post anything on the VVSD wall.

For directions on “subscribing” to VVSD Facebook, go to www.vvsd.org and click on the icon on the left side that says “VVSD365U on Facebook.”
You can also go to www.facebook.com/VVSD365U.
Click on the “subscribe” button near the top on the right side of the page.
After you have subscribed, you must fine tune what you see in your news feed and how you receive it by clicking on the “subscribed” button and clicking “all updates.”
“There are many different Facebook accounts out there with similar Valley View and VVSD names,” Randa said. “Be sure you are subscribed to VVSD365U which is the official Valley View School District Facebook.”
