Update: Where In The World Is Drew Peterson?
No one will say, but he's not in Downstate Menard Correctional Center anymore.

Drew Peterson was moved from Downstate Menard Correctional Center to the Northern Illinois Reception Center at Stateville, according to prison records — but no one will say why.
Illinois Department of Corrections spokeswoman Nicole Wilson said Peterson is no longer in state custody but would not say where he was put.
"Drew Peterson has been transferred out of IDOC custody," Wilson. "For safety and security purposes, the IDOC does not discuss details concerning the placement of offenders who are transferred under the terms of the Interstate Compact Agreement."

Wilson's reference to the Interstate Compact Agreement, which involves the transfer of prisoners across state lines, implies Peterson may be leaving Illinois for an out-of-state prison, if he's not gone already.
The Department of Corrections lists Peterson as a "temporary resident." The Federal Bureau of Prisons also lists Peterson as an inmate but says he is not in custody of the Bureau of Prisons.

The Bureau of Prisons has yet to respond to questions about Peterson.
Charles Pelkie, the spokesman for the Will County State's Attorney's Office, said Peterson's move had nothing to do with the filing of new charges.
"Anything that would have happened at IDOC would have nothing to do with local charges at this point," Pelkie said.
Former Peterson attorney Joseph "Shark" Lopez said he doesn't know why Peterson was moved into federal custody or where he was taken.
"Your guess is as good as mine," said Lopez.
"I've never seen anyone taken out of state custody and put into federal custody," Lopez said.
"I've seen vice versa," he said. "It's a very unusual situation."
Peterson attorneys Steve Greenberg and David Peilet did not return calls for comment.
Peterson, 63, had been locked up in maximum security Menard since 2013 for the 2004 murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.
Peterson was sentenced to 38 years in prison for killing Savio and 40 years in prison for supposedly attempting to orchestrate Glasgow's murder.
Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, vanished in October 2007. She remains missing.
The Illinois State Police named Peterson a suspect in Stacy's "potential homicide" but have yet to actually charge him with harming her.
