Aptakisic Road Reconstruction Part Of $88M In Lake County Projects

The Buffalo Grove road is being widened into a five-lane cross-section between IL 83 and Buffalo Grove Road.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The reconstruction and widening of Aptakisic Road will be part of a recently announced $88 million construction program in Lake County. According to the Lake County Division of Transportation, the money is being assigned to infrastructure projects that intend to reduce traffic congestion, increase safety, and reduce carbon emissions on Lake County's transportation system.

The Aptakisic Road reconstruction will turn it into a five-lane roadway cross-section between IL 83 and Buffalo Grove Road. A new multi-use path will be constructed on the north side Aptakisic Road, and a new sidewalk will be constructed on the south side, according to LCDOT.

More than 20 transportation projects will be under construction in 2023, featuring intersection improvements, bridge and culvert replacements, bike path connections, resurfacings, and a new roundabout.
