Board Approves $720K For Buffalo Grove Road Reconstruction Study
The Cook County Board of Commissioners voted Friday to fund transportation-related projects and initiatives throughout the county.

COOK COUNTY, IL — A possible future reconstruction of Buffalo Grove Road took a step forward Friday with the passage of funding for a $726,444 preliminary engineering/environmental study of a potential project. A 2.25-mile corridor of the road, between Hintz and Lake Cook roads, was approved by the Cook County Board of Commissioners, according to a news release.
The villages of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove and Wheeling were named as part of the funding approval.
The transportation-related projects and initiatives are led by Cook County’s Department of Transportation and Highways. The news release called these projects "vital" with the intention to boost economic development, build up regional transportation and improve the quality of life throughout Cook County.

“Improving quality of life and making it easier for residents to get around the County is a top priority of my administration,” Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle said in a statement. “These transportation-related projects ensure the County reaches its goals by making essential repairs and upgrades to existing infrastructure, but also through the creation of new infrastructure to meet the growing needs within communities.”
