Broken Gas Main Causes Road Closure At Half Day, Buffalo Grove Rd

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The area surrounding Buffalo Grove and Half Day Roads should be avoided due to a potential natural gas leak, Village officials announced in a social media post Friday.

According to the post, a contractor working on the northwest corner of Buffalo Grove Road and Half Day Road struck a natural gas main around noon. As a precaution, officials told Patch they are advising residents avoid the area.

North Shore Gas has been notified and is heading to the area to survey the damage.
