Construction Underway On Busy Buffalo Grove Road: Lake County
This project will create a new five-lane roadway cross-section, according to the Lake County Division of Transportation.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — If you've driven along Aptakisic Road recently, you may have noticed more construction workers and encountered some delays. According to the Lake County Division of Transportation, construction has started on a 1.2 mile stretch on Aptakisic Road, from IL 83 to Buffalo Grove Road.
When finished, a new five-lane roadway cross-section will have been built that will also connect a current gap between a bike path and sidewalk.
The project, which is part of $88 million in Lake County improvement plans, will improve a road that sees an estimated 20,000 vehicles a day.

Crews have begun pavement excavation on the south side of Aptakisic Road and will soon begin storm sewer installation, according to LCDOT. A temporary signal has been installed at the intersection of Brandywyn Lane and Aptakisic Road.

While no road closures are expected, motorist should still expect delays throughout the project. Though one lane of traffic will be open in each direction, temporary lane closures may occur a few hours per day to complete major work. Officials are urging motorists to drive carefully, watch for flaggers, and be aware of trucks entering and exiting the job site.
