Heavy Construction Delays Begin Thursday At I-83 In Buffalo Grove
The Illinois Department of Transportation said the delays will continue through Aug. 2.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — As road projects continue on Illinois Route 83, expect heavy construction heavy delays starting Thursday through Monday. The Illinois Department of Transportation said one northbound lane and one southbound lane will be closed for concrete pouring and will remain closed until the concrete has hardened.
The Village of Buffalo Grove is telling motorists to seek an alternative route.
The work is part of the Cook County Lake Cook Road Reconstruction Project. The project is currently in Stage 3 and includes reconstruction of the remaining sections of Lake Cook Road, Buffalo Grove Road, IL-83/McHenry Road, and Weiland Road. This also includes the addition of a noise abatement wall, permanent traffic signals and installation of street lighting, according to the project's website.

Lake Cook Road from Raupp Boulevard to Hasting Lane is currently open to one lane in each direction, with dedicated left turn lanes at each intersection. Motorists should expect delays and be alert when traveling through the work zone, according to the project's website.
Stage 3 is expected to be completed this year.
