Paczki Day 2025: Where To Find Paczki Near Buffalo Grove

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — Chicago is the largest Polish city outside of Poland, with over 800,000 Polish Americans living here. It's no surprise that Paczki Day is a big deal throughout Chicagoland.

While last year's celebration fell on Feb. 13, this year, Paczki Day will be celebrated on March 4. As a result, local bakeries are busy filling orders for paczkis, the beloved deep-fried Polish confections. Paczki Day coincides with Fat Tuesday, the traditional day before Christians around the world start the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday, March 5 in 2025.

Paczki, pronounced pownch-key, are doughnuts, usually filled with jelly. Paczkis sell like hot cakes across Chicagoland as many bakeries start taking orders for them weeks in advance. Here's a roundup of some places where you can buy paczki in the Buffalo Grove area.

Deerfields Bakery

813 Waukegan Road, Deerfield and 201 N Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove

Paczkis are available now through March 4. Online ordering ends on March 1. The 22 flavors of paczki at Deerfields include apple, banana cream, birthday cake, Nutella, salted caramel and fresh strawberry. Mardi Gras cookies and king cake are also available.

Glenview Grind

1837 Glenview Road, Glenview

Paczki, courtesy of Bennison's Bakery, are available for $4.25 at the locally-owned shop in downtown Glenview. Order them now, including apricot, chocolate custard, lemon, raspberry, cheese, apple, blueberry, strawberry/whipped cream, chocolate praline, banana/whipped cream, and German chocolate.

Dip and Sip Donuts

1825 Waukegan Road, Glenview

Dip and Sip Donuts is selling its own version of paczkis. All are made from scratch in house along with homemade fillings.

KD Market

1102 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg; 1046 S. Elmhurst Road, Mount Prospect; 835 W. Dundee Road, Wheeling; 9500 W. Irving Park Road, Schiller Park

If you're looking for authentic paczki, look no further than KD Market, a local Polish grocery store chain. Since 1998, the market has been offering a wide range of European and domestic products, including smoked meats, freshly baked breads, pastries, scratch-made meals and authentic Polish paczki. The traditional paczki is handmade at KD Market with plum butter, raspberry and rose hip flavor friend in lard with filling inside. Delivery or curbside pick up on pączki orders is not available. Tuesday, Feb. 25, is the last day to place orders for Fat Thursday (Feb. 27). Sunday, March 2, is the last day to place orders for Fat Tuesday. Minimum order is one dozen.

Oak Mill Bakery

2314 E Rand Road, Arlington Heights

Oak Mill Bakery is a family-owned specialty bakery "committed to serving Chicagoland with the freshest and finest European style baked goods since 1986." Oak Mill is taking preorders for paczkis, which will be on sale from Feb. 27 through March 4. Other nearby locations include: 2490 S Wolf Road, Des Plaines and 8012 N Milwaukee Ave., Niles.

Sweet T's Bakery & Cake Studio

21 S. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights

There are no pre-orders available, but plenty of flavor options, including fresh strawberry, banana, chocolate mousse, Oreo, peanut butter and jelly, apple, blueberry, peach and salted caramel. Get your paczki from Feb. 27 through March 4.

Central Continental Bakery

101 South Main Street, Mount Prospect

The fourth generation bakery has been proudly serving Mount Prospect since 1979. Online ordering is underway. The annual Paczki Fest runs from Thursday, Feb. 27, through Tuesday, March 4. Flavors include apricot, cream cheese, chocolate-iced custard, lemon, prune, raspberry and strawberry.

Ganache Bakery

9328 Waukegan Road, Morton Grove

Established in 2022, Ganache Bakery are available now in-store and can be also ordered online. Flavors include chocolate mousse, custard, raspberry, buttercream and blueberry.

Jarosch Bakery

35 S Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village

Since 1959, the family-owned business has been pleasing customers with their delicious creations. Through March 4, paczki and King's cakes will be available in the store. Online ordering is available. Phone ordering is also available through March 1, at 847-437-1234. Flavors include apple, cheese, custard with chocolate, pineapple, raspberry and strawberry.

Spunky Dunkers Donuts

20 South Northwest Highway, Palatine

Pre-orders for paczkis are available now. Visit the store for an order form or call 847-358-7935. Open 24 hours. Flavors include Elvis (peanut butter and banana), strawberry cheese, apple buttercream, Bavarian and cookies 'n' cream.

Stan's Donuts

Woodfield Mall, 5 Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg

Choose from cherry, chocolate, vanilla and cannoli paczki flavors that can be pre-ordered, picked up in-store or delivered nationwide. Available at all 12 Chicagoland locations.
