Pedestrian, 71, Fatally Struck By Car On Thanksgiving In Kildeer: Coroner

Autopsy results were released Monday and an investigation into the cause of the incident continues.

KILDEER, IL — A 71-year-old Barrington man was struck and killed by a car while walking on Thanksgiving. The Lake County Coroner's Office, who identified the deceased as Donald Dougal, said an autopsy conducted Monday revealed he had died from blunt force injuries as a result of the crash.

The Lake Zurich Fire Department and Kildeer police responded to the area of Quentin Road, south of Rand Road, in Kildeer at around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, for a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. Emergency personnel pronounced Dougal dead at the scene.

Based on the seriousness of the crash, the Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County was requested to assist with the investigation. The Kildeer Police Department and MCAT are investigating the cause of the crash.
