Pedestrian Walkway Being Relocated After New Funding In Buffalo Grove

The Cook County Board of Commissioners announced Monday funding for projects from the Department of Transportation and Highways.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A pedestrian walkway that crosses Arlington Heights Road north of Dundee Road will soon be relocated. The Cook County Board of Commissioners announced Monday that a number of transportation-related projects and initiatives led by the County's Department of Transportation and Highways has been approved for funding.

Buffalo Grove will receive $40,000 to relocate the walkway by approximately 400 feet and install new median refuge island serving Buffalo Grove High School and Cooper Middle School.

The Board said these "vital projects boost economic development, build up regional transportation and improve the quality of life throughout Cook County," according to a news release.
