Woman, 74, Fatally Struck By 2 Cars While Walking In Buffalo Grove: Police

The incident occurred Wednesday night near the entrance to the Plaza Verde shopping center.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A 74-year-old woman was struck and killed by two cars Wednesday night while walking near the entrance to the Plaza Verde shopping center. Arlington Heights Road was shut down for approximately four hours between Dundee Road and University, according to Buffalo Grove police.

Police responded to the incident on southbound Arlington Heights Road, south of Dundee Road, at around 5:20 p.m. Arlington Heights police and paramedics were the first to arrive and attempted lifesaving measures. The woman was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Buffalo Grove police said no citations or charges have been issued at this time. The crash is currently being investigated by the department's traffic unit, along with the major crash assistance team.
