Funding for Burr Ridge Roads Uncertain
A ballot measure to fund roads was worded as a tax increase, but it would have replaced expiring bond payments.

Village Administrator Steve Stricker said Burr Ridge's road maintenance program would need to be scaled back after voters rejected a plan to fund infrastructure, according to The Weekly Doings.
The bonds used to bring Lake Michigan water to the village will be paid off at the end of the year, and the ballot measure was designed to shift the $520,000 in annual bond payments to infrastructure maintenance. The village currently spends about $1 million every year on roads.
The village is still in the process of finalizing next year's budget, and there will be a public meeting on December 12 to discuss the proposed tax levy.
