CHANNAHON, IL — The Will County State's Attorney's Office has filed disorderly conduct charges against 23-year-old Morris resident Nicholas Doran in connection with a gas station incident back in late September in the village of Channahon. The criminal complaint indicates Doran told one of the employees "he will come back with a gun and shoot him."

According to Channahon Deputy Police Chief Matt Brooks, back around 10:52 a.m. Sept. 27, Doran entered the BP Gas Station at 24061 Eames St. According to the clerk on duty, Doran appeared to have slurred speech, making it difficult for the clerk to understand his questions.

Brooks said Doran became agitated and began making hand gestures simulating a firearm, stating, "You know what this is." He then told the clerk that he was going to retrieve a gun from his vehicle, return inside, and shoot him, according to police.

As Doran exited the store, police say he continued making gun gestures while repeating his threats. The clerk called for the Channahon police, but Doran had left the area prior to the arrival of officers, Channahon police said.

Brooks said the detectives reviewed the incident and positively identified the suspect as Nicholas Doran, and the Will County State's Attorney's Office subsequently issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

Channahon police advised Joliet Patch they did not have a booking photo because the agency did not arrest Doran, a summons was issued for the criminal complaint.

Will County court records indicate Doran has had several criminal charges in recent years involving driving on a suspended license and a DUI. Doran has been given a summons to be at the Will County Courthouse on Dec. 29. It's in Courtroom 303.

Doran's summons indicates he lives in Morris in the 900 block of East Washington Street.
