2 Teens, Accused Of August Murders, Charged As Adults

A judge on Sunday called the killings "evil," a report said. A witness said they heard the accused planning the murders.

CHICAGO, IL — Two teenagers accused of killing two other teens in August are being charged as adults, reports say. Leslie Ward, 17, and Kahlil Colone, 16, are each being charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

On Aug. 19, Darnelle Flowers, 17, and Raysuan Turner, 16, were found dead in the woods near 130th and Eberhart, near Golden Gate Park. The Daily Herald reports they were shot in the head. They were students at Fenger High School.

The victims and alleged killers had known each other for years, Cook County prosecutors said at a Sunday bond hearing, the report says. Prosecutors added that Ward and Colone lured the victims to the park on Aug. 17 with the intention of killing them.
