Chicago Officers Seriously Hurt In Crash, Hit By Teen Driving Stolen Car: Police
The 18-year-old driver was in critical condition after hitting the officers' squad car as well as three other vehicles, police said.
CHICAGO — Two Chicago police officers were seriously injured after their squad car was struck by a stolen vehicle driven by a teenager Monday morning in Chicago’s Wrigleyville area, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. in the 3600 block of North Racine Avenue, police said.
A marked squad car was southbound when a Hyundai Elantra, reported stolen, drove through a stop sign and hit the squad, then struck three parked vehicles, while the squad was pushed onto the sidewalk and into a tree, according to police.

The officers were taken to an area hospital, as was the Elantra’s 18-year-old driver, who was in critical condition, police said. The teen was placed into custody with charges and citations pending, according to police.
