7 Hurt In 4-Car Crash On Lake Shore Drive
The accident Monday near Montrose Beach shut down the road in both directions near Lawrence Avenue in the Uptown neighborhood.

CHICAGO, IL — At least seven people were hurt after a multiple-vehicle accident shut down traffic in both directions of Lake Shore Drive near Lawrence Avenue in the Uptown neighborhood, according to the Chicago Fire Department. The four-car crash happened just after 6 p.m. Monday, July 24, in the northbound lanes of the 4800 block Lake Shore Drive near Montrose Beach.
According to online updates by the fire department, two people were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition and another person was sent to Evanston's Presence St. Francis Hospital also in serious-to-critical condition. Two children were injured in the accident and taken to Lurie's Children Hospital, and another person was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair-to-serious condition. One individual refused medical attention, according to the CFD.

Authorities are warning motorists to stay clear of the area, which "will be shut down for some time."
