Baby Shot During 'Domestic Struggle,' Not By Stray Bullet
Police said the father carried the child into a Chicago hospital, claiming he was hit by a stray bullet.

CHICAGO, IL — A baby was shot in the head during a "domestic struggle" between his parents Monday night on Chicago's North Side, police said. The child, believed to be about 1 year old, was wounded just before 8:15 p.m. in the city's Uptown neighborhood.
Police said a man walked into Weiss Memorial Hospital with the wounded child, who was then taken by ambulance to Lurie Children's Hospital.
Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said he was in serious, but stable condition, according to NBC Chicago.

The father initially told police that he was carrying the child near Leland and Clarendon street when multiple people opened fire on him, hitting the baby instead. On Monday night, people said investigators were "attempting to collect physical and video evidence" to corroborate the father's story.
Later, police said the baby was actually shot inside a residence during a "domestic struggle" between the parents.
