Blackhawks Mascot Tommy Hawk, Fan Exchange Punches: Video

The incident happened Friday at the United Center.

CHICAGO, IL — It's something you don't see every day: the Chicago Blackhawks' mascot Tommy Hawk in a (real) physical altercation with a fan. But that's what reportedly happened Friday night at the United Center during the Blackhawks' game against the Winnipeg Jets, according to several reports. Police told the Chicago Sun-Times that a male in Tommy Hawk's mascot attire was punched and put in a headlock by a fan, before he body-slammed the fan and threw some punches of his own, as seen below in the video captured by an onlooker and uploaded to Twitter the next day.

The mascot vs fan incident was reported to police around 11:15 p.m. Friday, shortly after the game ended.

A Blackhawk spokesperson told the Sun-Times, “We are gathering the facts and will have no further comment at this time, pending our investigation.”
