Chicago Triathlon Cyclists Hit By Car That Drove Past Traffic Cones
The 20-year-old driver was cited in Sunday morning's incident along Lake Shore Drive.

CHICAGO, IL — Two Chicago Triathlon bicyclists were hit by a car Sunday morning when the driver drove past barricades on Lake Shore Drive that were put up for the event. The 20-year-old woman driving the car was cited for negligent driving and driving without insurance by Chicago police, who did not identify the driver, according to WGN-TV News.
The incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of North Lake Shore Drive, the report stated. The car's driver is accused of manuevering around traffic cones and striking two cyclists participating in the event, a 28-year-old man and a 38-year-old man, the report added.
Both cyclists were taken to Advocate Illinios Masonic Medical Center. The woman sustained injuries to her shoulder, neck and head, and the man hurt his head and shoulder, the report stated.
