Off-Duty Chicago Cop, Woman Seriously Hurt In Fight Outside Nightclub

The pair were hospitalized Friday after they were beaten by three strangers in the River North neighborhood, police say.

CHICAGO, IL — An off-duty Chicago police officer and a woman were severely hurt Friday during a fight with three other people outside a River North club, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Both were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and the woman was in critical condition, while the officer was in serious condition, the report added.

According to police, the incident happened around 2 a.m. Friday, June 23, outside a nightclub near LaSalle Drive and Hubbard Street, the report stated. The off-duty officer and the woman became involved in a fight with three strangers after the two exited the club, the report added. Police had apprehended two suspects by Friday morning and were searching for a third individual, according to the Sun-Times.
