Employee Crushed To Death At Chicago Car Wash

The 45-year-old man was involved in a workplace accident late Wednesday.

CHICAGO — A 45-year-old man died after being crushed by machinery at a Jefferson Park car wash late Wednesday, according to Chicago police. The incident happened just before 10 p.m. at Express Car Wash in the 4800 block of West Lawrence Avenue.

The man, identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Adam Cerceo, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

His death was determined to be an accident caused by injuries from becoming entangled in automated car wash equipment, according to the medical examiner.
