CHICAGO — The schedule for the second night of the Democratic National Convention will feature a ceremonial state-by-state delegate roll call before a headline remarks from Michelle and Barack Obama.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Sen. Tammy Duckworth are also part of the prime-time lineup for Tuesday night's program at the United Center, themed "A Bold Vision for America's Future."

After gaveling in at 5:30 p.m., the grandsons of two former presidents are scheduled to address the arena: Jimmy Carter's grandson Jason Carter and John F. Kennedy's grandson Jack Schlossberg — connecting to Democratic Party dynasties of the past even as the Harris-Walz campaign has sought to project that they are "moving forward."

That is scheduled to be followed by a second night of remarks focused on the Heritage Foundation's conservative Project 2025 agenda, presented by Malcolm Kenyatta, a state representative from Philadelphia.

At 6 p.m., organizers look to highlight their appeal to disaffected Republicans, with remarks from a former Trump voter and former Trump White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham — the only one of history's 35 press secretaries to never hold a press conference.

The ceremonial roll call is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Party officials said it would mix "live shots and visual effects." Members of the nominees' home delegations are also scheduled to deliver remarks.

Delegates held a virtual roll call on Aug. 6, and Harris is already the party's official nominee, so the roll call vote of delegates, usually merely a formality, is now purely symbolic.

“The roll call is a beloved and time-honored tradition, and we’re proud to bring it back in a new and fun format,” said Democratic National Committee Jaime Harrison said earlier this month.

At 8 p.m.,"The View" co-host Ana Navarro is scheduled to speak, followed by remarks from Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who reportedly counseled President Joe Biden to give up his bid for reelection and blocked an attempt to nominate Biden through a different virtual roll call.

Vermont Independent U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, two-time runner-up for the Democratic Party's nomination, is next up after Schumer.

Pritzker is also due to speak in the 8 p.m. hour. He is set to be followed by former American Express CEO Ken Chenault and New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

At the 9 p.m. hour, a keynote address from Angela Alsobrooks, who is running against Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan for Sen. Ben Cardin's seat, is expected to focus on her experiences with Harris as a mentor.

Alsobrooks is set to be followed by Mesa, Arizona Mayor John Giles, Duckworth, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff before Michelle and then Barack Obama are due to take the stage at 10 p.m.

Other speakers and performers reportedly set to take the stage include former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, rapper Common and singer Patti LaBelle, who are expected to each make their second appearances on the stage at a DNC.
