'No War With Iran' Anti-War Rallies Planned In Chicago
Here's where protesters plan to gather in Chicago on Thursday.

CHICAGO, IL — Two demonstrations against escalation of military conflict with Iran are scheduled for Thursday in Chicago. A coalition of national political groups has organized events around the country calling for the United States to avoid "yet another unnecessary, costly war of choice in the Middle East," organizers announced.
In Chicago, these events are planned:
- 5 p.m. on the bridge over Lake Shore Drive north of North Avenue Beach; as of 11 a.m., 458 people indicated they planned to attend
- 5 p.m. at 103rd and Western, "Stop the rush to war" hosted by Southsiders for Peace; as of 11 a.m., 34 people indicated they planned to attend
Events were also planned in Glenview, Crytal Lake, Oak Park, Evanston, Arlington Heights and Crystal Lake.

The assassination of Qassem Soleimani, a top general in the Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, last week at the Baghdad Airport was followed by Iranian missile strikes Wednesday against bases in Iraq housing U.S. troops.

Groups involved in the coalition coordinating "No War With Iran: Day of Action" events include the AboutFace, Indivisible, MoveOn, the National Iranian American Council and Win Without War, according to a release.
