Railroad Worker Hurt After Metra Train Derails
The accident, which injured an employee's leg, caused no service delays Monday morning.

CHICAGO, IL — A BNSF Railway worker was hurt after the derailment of a Metra train Monday morning in a downtown Chicago railroad yard, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 24, in the Canal Street and Roosevelt Road rail yard, but the commuter train agency told the newspaper that no delays to service resulted from the incident.
The employee suffered an injury to his leg in the accident, and he was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the report stated. The injury isn't believed to be life-threatening, the report added. According to Metra, the train wasn't moving when it derailed, and there were no passengers on any of the cars at the time, the Sun-Times reports.
