Suspect In CTA Station Shooting Caught On Video: Cops
Chicago police released a description of a man wanted in connection with an incident Thursday at the Jackson Station.

CHICAGO, IL — Police are asking for help identifying a suspect in connection with a shooting Thursday at a CTA station in the Loop that wounded a 24-year-old Red Line passenger. Investigators released a description of the suspect over the weekend, as well as an image taken from a station security camera. The victim was shot in the ankle and left arm, and he was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
According to Chicago police, the shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Jackson Station, 230. S. State St. Before the incident, two groups were involved in a fight on the station's lower level, and the suspect, who is wanted for aggravated battery, was captured in CTA security video of the dispute, police said in a statement released Saturday.
The suspect is described by police as:

- an African-American man 20 to 25 years old
- between 5-feet-9-inches and 5-feet-11-inches tall
- weighing about 150 pound to 175 pounds.
In the security video, he is seen wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head, dark pants and white shoes. The suspect also was seen carrying a blue cinch bag. Detectives are investigating the incident as a targeted shooting, and police do not believe the public or CTA passengers are in danger, even though the gunman is still at large. Patrols, however, have been increased around the station.
