Taco Bell Manager Stabbed By Former Employee, Police Say

A former employee at a downtown Taco Bell attacked a manager while he was working after police said he didn't get his final paycheck.

CHICAGO — A 27-year-old man was stabbed by his former employee at a downtown Taco Bell Thursday night, police said.

At around 10:25 p.m. at a Taco Bell on the first block of East Chicago Avenue, a 47-year-old man walked in and demanded his final paycheck. The 27-year-old manager said he could not give him the check at the moment. Police said the man then jumped over the counter and began attacking the manager with a box cutter.

The manager sustained injuries to the back of his head and arm. He was taken to the hospital where he is in fair condition.

The 47-year-old fled the scene and is not currently in custody, according to a police spokesperson. The investigation is ongoing.
